Mission
To assist in the decision making process, the Board of Selectmen seeks to establish a community based committee that will act in an advisory capacity to the Board of Selectmen. As the development review process unfolds, the Selectmen through this advisory committee seek to create and open and inclusive review process.
The charge of this advisory committee is two-fold. The primary task of the committee is to be the link between the citizens of the Town and Board of Selectmen, Plymouth Economic Development Foundation and Mass Development on the various aspects of the site study process. Secondly, the committee will serve as a vehicle for the community to communicate with the Plymouth Economic Development Foundation and Mass Development to inform the community as the site study process unfolds. Community Participation will occur through a series of workshops with business owners, the economic development community, residents, and non-profit environmental groups.
Although the committee will not be asked to support or oppose any aspect of the site study process it will be thoroughly involved in every aspect of the study.
The Board of Selectmen will be responsible for setting the committee’s meeting schedule.
The committee shall organize themselves with necessary officers. The Committee shall comply with all Town Committee requirements such as notification of meetings, keeping of minutes and filing approved minutes with Town Clerk and Selectmen’s Office.
As the site study process progresses the committee’s role will be to:
· Suggest items for study
· Identify possible problems
· Convey community comments to the Board of Selectmen, Plymouth Economic Development Foundation and Mass-Development
