The mission of the Engineering Division is to provide quality engineering services and technical support for the Town of Plymouth, its residents, agents, and providers and to establish an atmosphere of courtesy, efficiency, and dedication, while maintaining a professional work environment that will foster, encourage, and nurture personal excellence, leadership, and growth.

  • Contract Administration including Bids, Coordination of Contractors, Selecting Consultants, Tracking Budgets, Reviewing Invoices, Preparing Pay Estimates, and etc.
  • Administration of Chapter 90 Program including Project Requests, and Reimbursements
  • Prepare Abutter’s List
  • Issue Permits for Street Openings, Driveway Openings, Drainage, Curb, and Sidewalk Construction
  • Review, and approve Licensed Utility Contractor
  • Coordinate with Consultants concerning various Projects
  • Update various Town Maps including Assessor Maps, Water and Sewer Maps, Street Atlas Maps, Zoning Maps, Precinct Maps, etc.
  • Review Utilities Pole Petitions
  • Review New Development Plans to insure compliance with Town Regulations and Standard Engineering Practices
  • Maintain and assign House Numbering system
  • Prepare Locus Maps for Town Meeting Warrants
  • Update Street Listing
  • Assist Constituents in Locating Property Records
  • MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain Pavement Management Database
  • Develop Annual Roadway Capital Plan
  • Annual Budget Preparation
  • Assist in the NPDES Phase II Permit Application, and Implementation
  • Provide Expert Testimony in Court Cases
  • File Notices of Intent or Requests for Determination of Applicability
  • Perform Traffic Analysis and Recommendation
  • Attend Board of Selectmen Meetings, Town Meeting, Advisory & Finance Committee Meetings, as necessary
  • Participate in Road Advisory Meetings
  • Geographic Information System (GIS)
