Did you know that in the United States, household waste increases by 25% between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day?  Please help reduce waste and keep disposal costs down!  Here are a couple of ideas:
  • Use reusable gift bags instead of wrapping paper.
  • Send holiday e-cards, or send cards made with recycled paper.
  • Recycle greeting cards and wrapping paper (those with non-paper additives can not be recycled).
  • Reuse cards to make new cards, gift tags and decorations.
  • Donate all-occasion greeting cards to St. Jude's Ranch for Children.  The children create new cards from the old ones, and the cards are sold to raise money for the organization, which helps abused and abandoned children.  Click HERE for information about the Recycled Card Program.
