Information for Water Entrance
All meters used by customers shall be furnished and owned by the Town of Plymouth, not withstanding exclusions by the Utilities Superintendant.
Any meters damaged by frost, or through the negligence shall be replaced at the customers expense.
All water that passes through the meter will be charged to the customer.
The owner of the property will be liable for the payment of all water charges furnished to the premises
Failure to receive a bill does not relieve the customer from obligation of payment or consequences for non payment including any interest, demands, hanger tag or shutoff fees.
No person except the authorized employee of the Water Division will be allowed to install, remove or repair any meters, hydrants, service stops or mains.
The property owner must keep the meter and OSR accessible for reading and inspection at all times.
If a meter fails to register consumption, the quantity shall be estimated and a charge made based on it's registration when in order by using the 4 previous identical billing usages. Estimates will not be eligible for abatements if there is no response to letters sent by certified mail by the Water Division.
The Town of Plymouth reserves the right to discontinue water service to any property due to failure to pay water or sewer charges upon demand. Unpaid balances are subject to liens.
A 48 hour notice is required for turning off or turning on water services.
No water will be turned off or on during weekends, nights or holidays. This does not apply to emergencies or main breaks.
Rates for Water Use
Up to 3,000 cubic feet is at the rate of $1.16 per 100 cubic feet.
Example: 3,000 x $1.16 = $34.80
3,001 to 9,000 cubic feet is at the rate of $1.64 per 100 cubic feet.
Example: 6,000 x $1.64 = $98.40
9,001 cubic feet and higher is at the rate of $1.96 per 100 cubic feet.
Example:10,000 x $1.96 = $196.00
The flat charge for water is $25.00 per billing period.
Usage will compound upon the flat charge.
Rates for Sewer Use
Up to 3,000 cubic feet of water used is at the rate of $4.10 per 100 cubic feet.
Example: 3,000 x $4.10 = $123.00
3,001 to 9,000 cubic feet of water is at the rate of $5.55 per 100 cubic feet.
Example: 6,000 x $5.55 = $333.00
9,001 cubic feet and higher of water is at the rate of $6.53 per 100 cubic feet.
Example: 10,000 x $6.53 = $653.00
The flat bill for Sewer is $85.00 per billing period.
Usage will compound upon the flat charge.
100 cubic feet equals 748 gallons of water
Fees:
Water bills are due within 30 days after the bills are mailed.
Interest at the rate 14% per annum is charged on unpaid amounts.

Whosoever unlawfully and intentionally injures, or suffers to be injured, a water meter belonging to a city, town, district or company engaging in supplying water, prevents such meter from duly registering the quantity of water supplied through it, hinders, bypasses or interferes with it's proper action or just registration or attaches a pipe to a main or pipe belonging to a city, town, district or water company or otherwise uses or causes to be used the water supplied by a city, town, district or water company without the consent of the same unless it passes through a meter set by such city, town, district or company shall be punished by a fine of not more than $100 or by imprisonment for not more then one year or both.
