Memorial Day Parade

Shirley Square - north on Rte. 3A to Courthouse Green, north to Memorial Hall, west on Rte 44 to Vine Hills Cemetery, thru to Summer St, east to Town Brook Bridge, and north to the Training Green.

The parade will start PROMPTLY at 9:30 a.m. at Shirley Square. All participants are encouraged to start formation directly at 9:00 a.m.  
The parade will proceed North on Route 3A and stop first at the Korean, Vietnam Memorial on the lawn of the Courthouse. A wreath will be placed at the Monument; a gun salute will take place (2 from American Legion, 2 from VFW). Everyone will then be given the order to present arms and Taps will be played.
Once Taps is complete order arms will be given and the parade will continue on to Memorial Hall. At Memorial Hall a wreath will be placed on the WWII Memorial. A gun salute will take place (2 from American Legion, 2 from VFW). Everyone will then be given the order to present arms and Taps will be played. Once Taps are complete; order arms will be given and the parade will continue on to the cemetery.
At the cemetery the Gettysburg Address will be read, followed by the wreath being placed. A gun salute will take place (2 from American Legion, 2 from VFW). Everyone will then be given the order to present arms and Taps will be played. Following Taps both the Canadian and the American National Anthems will be played.
The parade will proceed to the Town Brook Bridge for the WWI Memorial. A wreath will be placed at the Monument; a gun salute will take place (2 from American Legion, 2 from VFW). Everyone will then be given the order to present arms and Taps will be played.
At the Training Green the MC will welcome everyone to the Ceremony. The American Legion will read the opening Prayer. The MC will then introduce the Guest Speaker. At the conclusion of the Guest Speakers' speech, the MC will escort the speaker to the placement of the wreath. A gun salute will take place (2 from American Legion, 2 from VFW). Everyone will then be given the order to present arms and Taps will be played followed by both the Canadian and the American National Anthems. Once the music has stopped the order arms is given. A closing prayer will be said; thanks are given to all participants and that concludes the official ceremony.
The American Legion and the VFW continue on to the Water Front for a brief ceremony there.
