Amplified Music Permit

Process Length:  Approximately one week

Fees:    None

Renewal Time:  License is good for the day(s) requested only.

Notes:  Except as provided in Chapter 136 of the General Laws, amplified music permits are required under the following circumstances:
Music is live and amplified
Music is play out of doors either in open air or in a tent, carport, gazebo, garage, breezeway, etc.

Permits are required by residents and businesses.  The Police Department shall enforce laws relating to disturbance of the peace and shall have the right to require amplification be turned down or stopped.

Process:  

You must complete a Residential Amplified Music Application or a Business Amplified Music Application.  If you are filling out a Residential Application there is a spot on the application for neighbors to sign. Please make sure you get the signatures of those neighbors that are within earshot of the amplified music.

Once the application is turned in we will forward it to the Police Department and Building Department for their recommendations and signatures.  It is then reviewed and signed by the Town Manager.
