Process Length: Approximately two weeks.
Fee: $100.00
Renewal Time: Once a year – May 1
Notes: A Pawnbroker is governed by several statutes.
=Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in Massachusetts under Chapter 106.
=Mass. General Laws Chapter 146
=Commissioner of Banks who regulates interest rates charged by pawnbrokers.
Process:
Once this is completed and turned in to us we will forward the CORI form to the Criminal History Systems Board. Once we receive this back (it usally takes about 2 weeks, but could take longer) then we will put it on the agenda for the next Board of Selectmen meeting for their approval and signatures.
Before I give you your license I need to get a sign off from the Building Department.
