Vehicle for Hire Operator License (New or Renewal)
Process Length: Expect a minimum of three weeks.
Fee: $25.00
Renewal Time: Once a year – December 31.
Notes: Please look at the Taxi and Public Livery Rules and Regulations for requirements. The taxi operator license is to be conspicuously posted in the vehicle clearly visible to passengers. If a taxi/public livery operator goes to a new company to work, they must get us a letter from the new company stating that they are now employed by them. If you are no longer working for any VFH Company in Plymouth you must turn your Operator License into us. You may get it again once you have a letter
from a company stating you will be working for them.
Process:
You must complete an application which you can pick up in the Town Manager's office in the Town Hall. Complete the CORI Background Check Form and the REAP Tax Form. Return the above with two headshots of yourself, your driving record (you can obtain
this from the Registry of Motor Vehicles for a small fee), a copy of your valid Massachusetts drivers license, and a letter from the Vehicle for Hire Company you will be employed by, stating that you are employed by them.
Once all of this is returned to us and we receive the background check form back from the Criminal History Systems Board, we will put it on the agenda for the Board of Selectmen’s Meeting.
For Duplicate, Amendment or to Reinstate a Suspended License:

Process:
For a duplicate or to reinstate a suspended license we need the same information as above and the process is the same.
