How To Get Licenses
Click on the name of the license below for information on how apply for it. These licenses are obtained through the Town Manager's Office.  If you don't see the license you are interested in listed below, it is probably obtained through another office.  If you have any questions, please call Lisa Johnson in the Town Manager's Office at (508) 747-1620 ext. 100.

License Name
Description
Required if you are having live or amplified music outdoors.
Required if you will be holding an auction.
Class I, II, and III. Required if you are buying, selling, or exchanging new or second hand vehicles or assembling second hand motor vehicles or parts therof.
Required for use of any automatic amusement machine, game, or recreation.
Required if you will be blocking parking spaces.
Required if you will be blocking a sidewalk or a portion therof.
Required to be able to serve or prepare food.
Required for any business that will have any type of entertainment including but not limited to: Radio, TV, Jukebox, Music, Dancing, Plays, Moving Pictures, Light or Theatre Shows. This license covers Monday through Saturday.
Enables a restaurant to be able to start serving alcohol at 11:00 a.m. as opposed to 12:00 p.m.
Enables a restaurant to be able to serve alcohol until 1:00 a.m. as opposed to 12:00 a.m.
Required for any person and/or business that will be doing any type of fortune telling including but not limited to: fortune telling, palm reading, card reading, etc.
Required if you will be operating a horse drawn carriage on public roads and ways.
Anyone offering to the public lodgings and food.
Required for the purchase, sale or barter of junk, old metals, or second-hand articles.
Required to collect by purchase or otherwise, junk, old metals or second-hand articles from place to place.
To be able to serve any alcoholic beverages.
A house where lodgings are let to four or more persons not within the second degree of kindred to the person conducting it.
Required if you are moving buildings in the Town of Plymouth.
Required for the sale of alcoholic beverages to the public. One day license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages may be issued to non-profit organizations only. All others may only get a wine and malt one day license.
Required for anyone whose business or occupation includes the taking or receiving, by way of pledge or pawn, of any article or personal property as security for the payment or repayment of money.
Required for any establishment to keep a billiard, pool or sippio table.
Required for any business that will have entertainment on Sunday's, incuding but no limited to: Radio, TV, Jukebox, Music, Dancing, Plays, Moving Pictures, Light or Theatre Shows.
Required if a package store wants to be open on Sunday
Required for any person that will be operating a vehicle for hire.
Required for any vehicle that will be used as a taxi or public livery vehicle.
Required for any land that has above or underground storage of flammable liquids.
