SEWER FORCE MAIN REHABILITATION PROJECT:
SANDWICH STREET
Plymouth’s Department of Public Works (“DPW”) seeks to notify residents and visitors that the Town will undertake a sewer force main rehabilitation project on Sandwich Street, beginning the week of March 11, 2024. Construction is anticipated to take one month to complete.
The project includes cured in place (CIPP) lining inside the existing sewer force main on Sandwich Street between Winter Street and Nook Road. Construction also includes excavation of access pits along the existing force main and installation of a temporary bypass sewer pipe. Please take caution when driving through the construction area as road plates on Sandwich Street will be in place throughout the duration of this project.
Insituform Technologies of Chesterfield, Missouri will perform the work as the Town’s contractor. Work will occur during weekdays (Monday through Friday), between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. No work will occur on holidays.
During construction, please expect to be inconvenienced by traffic delays, detours, uneven/settling trenches, and elevated noise levels. The Town and the Contractor will make every effort possible to minimize disturbances to residents, businesses, pedestrians, and motorists in the area.
Interruption of water and sewer service is not anticipated during this project; however, there may be occasions when the occupants of specific buildings are asked to minimize or cease water usage for brief intervals in order to facilitate the rehabilitation of sewers in the area. All businesses will remain open during construction.
The Town appreciates the community’s patience and support during this important sewer system improvement project. Questions may be directed to the DPW’s Sewer Division at (508) 830-4159, extension 14213 during normal business hours, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
