Seals on the Beach

Seals spend a lot of time on rocks and the beach. It is not uncommon for them to be on Brown's Bank or even along the harbor shores. Please observe them from a distance. It is also common for baby seals to be on the beach alone they are not abandoned and do not need to be rescued. If you see an obvious injury please contact us. We work with several agencies and will contact the appropriate group.

This is a good article regarding seals on the beach from the New England Aquarium.
