Hydrant Flushing

The Town of Plymouth Water Division will continue the annual flushing of hydrants in the Manomet Pressure Zone during the week of September 27, 2021
During the week of September 27, 2021, we will be flushing in the area of the Indian Hill Tank located on Shoreline Drive. Roads in the vicinity include Hillside Drive, Goelette Drive, Coolidge Lane, and RT. 3A
All flushing will begin at 7:30 A.M. and continue as late as 8:00 P.M. All flushing will be done weather permitting and freezing weather may cause delays.
We estimate that the flushing in Manomet will require 5-7 weeks to complete.
The Manomet Pressure Zone encompasses areas just south of the Powerhouse Road on RT 3A (State Road) Down to Barnfield Drive. This service area extends from the coast westward to RT 3 (Pilgrims Highway). (See Map Link Below)
Customers may notice a severe drop in pressure while the hydrants are flowing.
Customers are advised that some discoloration of the water may occur if you draw water while we are flushing near your home. If this occurs, you should wait until we are out of the area and then run cold water from the faucet nearest to the water meter for several minutes and it should clear up.
As a precaution, customers are urged to check their water for discoloration prior to washing laundry. Should a load of laundry be stained by rusty water, contact the Water Division office for recommended cleaning instructions.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
