The Town of Plymouth’s Department of Public Works (“DPW”) seeks to notify residents and visitors that the Town has begun a sewer system rehabilitation project on portions of Standish Avenue, Pleasant Street, Stafford Street, Towns Street, and Summer Street.
National Water Main Cleaning Company of Canton, Massachusetts and N&M Excavating of Harwich, Massachusetts will be performing the sewer main and manhole repairs. Work will occur during weekdays (Monday through Friday), between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. No work will occur on holidays.
During construction, the Town and the Contractor will make every effort possible to minimize disturbances to residents, businesses, pedestrians, and motorists in the area throughout the duration of this project. The Town does advise the public, however, to expect traffic delays, detours, uneven/settling trenches, and elevated noise levels during the scheduled work.
Interruption of water and sewer service is not anticipated during this project; however, there may be occasions when the occupants of specific buildings are asked to minimize or cease water usage for brief intervals, in order to facilitate the rehabilitation of sewers in the area. All businesses will remain open during construction.
Barring inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, this work is expected to occur over the duration of several weeks.
The Town appreciates the community’s patience and support during this important sewer system improvement project. Questions may be directed to the DPW’s Sewer Division at (508) 830-4159, extension 212, during normal business hours.
