[ARCHIVED] Reminder: Temporary Tide Restrictions 8/30 - 9/4

Above average or extreme high tides will affect vehicle access over the Crossover from August 30 through September 4 (Labor Day).

Each day the Natural Resources Officer will determine the timing and extent of tide restrictions and/or closures depending on tide height, beach slope and weather conditions.  Vehicles may need to leave some or all of the areas over the Crossover.  Typically, tide closures last for approximately 1½ hours before and after the high tide, and vehicles may need to leave some or all of the areas over the Crossover.

The timing and extent of closures may be affected by higher surf as Hurricane Franklin passes offshore later this week.

The high tides over Labor Day weekend will be among the highest of the summer, and vehicles will need to leave all areas of the Crossover during the tide closures, so please plan accordingly!

Tides for these days are as follows:

8/30  Wednesday    11:20am  10.2 ft
8/31  Thursday        12:11pm  10.8 ft
9/1    Friday              12:59pm  11.3 ft
9/2    Saturday          1:47am   11.6 ft
9/3    Sunday             2:36pm   11.7 ft
9/4    Monday            3:26pm   11.6 ft
