[ARCHIVED] Crossover Closed Due to Hurricane Lee

Due to Hurricane Lee, the Plymouth Long Beach Crossover will be closed through the weekend.

The main lot of Plymouth Beach will close at Warren Avenue Friday afternoon/evening, at the Plymouth Police Department’s discretion and remain closed through Saturday.

The main lot and Ryder Way will reopen Sunday morning ONLY if the lot conditions are appropriate for driving. If conditions are deemed unsuitable, the lot and Ryder Way will remain closed at Warren Ave., until DPW can sufficiently repair the area. Given the possibility of downed trees and other damage, this repair may take several days.

Please be advised; there will be no beach staff managing visitors and traffic, or lifeguards on duty this weekend. Due to the unknowns that come with a large storm such as this, dangerous surf and rip currents may still be present at the beach days after its departure. Surf is expected to break over the Plymouth Beach seawall for several days- these high energy events can flood Warren Avenue, wash vehicles into Eel River and Plymouth Harbor, and carry large rocks and debris over the wall into the parking area, damaging property and causing injury. The Town highly recommends avoiding the area until conditions have calmed. Please obey closures and directions from Plymouth Police, Plymouth Fire, Emergency Operations, and Town, State, and/or Federal Officials.
