As stated in the Town Charter, the Plymouth Board of Health is comprised of five members and one alternate that are appointed by the Select Board for three-year overlapping terms. The Board of Health is responsible for the promotion and protection of public health. This is done through education and enforcement of environmental, public, medical, and mental health laws and regulations.
The Plymouth Board of Health is comprised of 5 uncompensated, dedicated volunteers, all of whom have extensive backgrounds, experience, and knowledge in health care, public health, and related fields. They are empowered by State law to take any necessary measures to try to protect the health of Town residents.
