Manomet Pressure Zone Pipe Upgrades

The design of the Manomet Pressure Zone Pipe Upgrades began in November 2021. The project includes the replacement of existing 6-inch, 8-inch, and 10-inch cast iron water mains, totaling approximately 20,100 linear feet, with new 8-inch and 12-inch ductile iron cement-lined water mains. The project is partially funded by a grant through the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant. The project is in the Manomet section of Plymouth, along the following streets:

  • Brook Road
  • Bartlett Road from Ray Road to State Road
  • Manomet Point Road from State Road to Kevin Avenue
  • White Horse Road from State Road to Robbins Hill Road
  • Robbins Hill Road
  • Priscilla Beach Road from Robbins Hill Road to Cochituate Road
  • Rocky Hill Road from White Horse Road to Guide Board Road
  • Manomet Elementary School from Manomet Point Road to Asiaf Way

The purpose of the project is to reduce system pressure surges, eliminate hydraulic constraints thus increasing water supply, eliminate fire flow deficiencies, and improve the overall redundancy and resiliency of the water system. Weston & Sampson, Inc. was selected as the engineering consultant for this project. The project was put out to bid in March 2023 and awarded to MDR Construction Co., Inc. of Tewksbury, MA.
