Mission Statement

The mission of the Plymouth Municipal Archives is to serve the general public by preserving and making accessible records created or received by Town agencies and elected officials. As a public entity, the Town maintains historical records in their original form, whenever possible, pursuant to the Massachusetts Public Records Law. The Plymouth Municipal Archives serves government record creators and users, providing education and guidance on records issues, preservation, research, and records management. Our extensive records chronicle the history of the Town and its inhabitants and illustrate the relationship between Town government and the population.
