Today, International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD), we remember loved ones lost due to overdose and support the recovery efforts for those who are still facing substance use. This past Monday, the Plymouth Public Library hosted its first annual celebration of life event, “We Remember, We Recover” in partnership with High Point Treatment Center, Plymouth Recovery Center, Drug Story Theater, BAMSI (Plymouth COPE Center), and South Shore Recovery Center. 

Plymouth’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced earlier this year its Addiction Response and Improvement Strategies Effort (ARISE) program as the Town’s coordinated response to the local opioid/substance use epidemic. 

Plymouth ARISE strives to increase community engagement and reduce stigma around the topic of opioid and other substance use and was proud to partner with local programs to bring forth such an impactful event.
