On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (MassWildlife) returned to Billington Sea to continue their assessment and collection of deceased and sick birds, as well as reassess the pond’s ice conditions. With the warmer temperatures, MassWildlife staff successfully and safely removed a total of 71 waterfowl from the Baker Road area of Billington Sea. As of today, state officials have safely collected all visible deceased waterfowl on Billington Sea.
